Dollmaking in progress..

I'm currently working on new pieces for the new collection of Dedalos Dolls.

I will show you my new creations very soon, as I am planning to update the shop by the end of the month. 

Meanwhile I'll let you give a sneak peek of my working table and my little creatures waiting to come to light.

Sto lavorando a dei nuovi pezzi per la collezione Dedalos Dolls. 

Vi mostrerò presto le creazioni, perchè ho in programma di aggiornare il negozio alla fine del mese. Intanto vi lascio dare un occhiata al mio tavolo da lavoro e alle mie piccole creature che aspettano di venire alla luce.

Au revoir, Amélie !

Another doll is going to leave my studio and fly to her new home! This time it's Amélie, a doll inspired by the famous french movie by director Jean-Pierre Jeunet. I gave her the characteristic short and cute haircut and a very Parisian outfit. I'm very glad to know she will go to stay in the best place for her: France ! 

Un'altra bambola sta per lasciare il mio studio e volare verso la sua nuova casa! Questa volta si tratta di Amélie, una bambola ispirata al famoso film francese del regista Jean-Pierre Jeunet. 

Le ho dato il caratteristico taglio di capelli corto ed un outfit parigino. Sono molto felice di sapere che è diretta nel posto più giusto per lei: la Francia!

Baroque feeling

Huge hoary hairdos, damasked textiles and wallpapers, amazing music and a rich and extravagant atmosphere in all arts. That is baroque. Up to nowadays, this style keeps influencing the creativity in all fields. 

My doll Pauline was created inspired by all those influences. Plus she's a musician, so she deserved a proper instrument. I couldn't avoid to choose a stringed instrument such as the cello. After all, I was born in Cremona, the city of Antonio Stradivari, one of the best violin makers in history. 

Enormi candide acconciature, tessuti e carte da parati damascati, musica incredibile e un ambiente ricco e stravagante in tutte le arti. Questo è il barocco. Ancora oggi, questo stile influenza la creatività in tutti i campi.
La mia bambola Pauline è stata ispirata da tutti questi influssi. Inoltre essendo una musicista, meritava uno strumento adeguato. Non potevo evitare di scegliere per lei uno strumento a corde come il violoncello. Dopo tutto, sono nata a Cremona, la città di Antonio Stradivari, uno dei migliori liutai della storia.

Who doesn't love Breakfast at Tiffany's movie, and its beautiful iconic actress Audrey Hepburn?

I definitely do, and I wanted to pay a little hommage to that masterchief of literature and its beautiful cinematic transition. Meet my frivolous little Holly! She wears a reproduction of the famous Givenchy dress, a precious tiara, long satin gloves and a pearl necklace.

Chi non ama il film Colazione da Tiffany, e la sua bellissima ed iconica protagonista Audrey Hepburn?
Io di sicuro lo adoro, e ho voluto fare un piccolo omaggio a questo capolavoro della letteratura e alla sua trasformazione cinematografica. Vi presento la mia vanitosa mini Holly! Indossa una piccola riproduzione del celeberrimo abito Givenchy, una preziosa tiara, lunghi guanti in satin e un collier di perle.

Hanna the writer

Another little lovely doll left my studio theese days..I didn't have time to talk about her in a post previously, so I'll do it now! 
Hanna is a writer, and I loved to imagine this character with beautiful curly brown messy hair, and a confortable yet elegant outfit. The doll carries a real little note book, handbound from drawing paper and blue fabric.
As all of my dolls, Hanna was shipped in a nice box covered in blue fabric with a satin ribbon.

Un'altra bella bambolina lasciato il mio studio in questi giorni .. non ho avuto tempo di parlare di lei in un post precedente, quindi dovrò farlo ora!
Hanna è una scrittrice, e ho voluto immaginare questo personaggio con tanti capelli ricci disordinati, e un abito confortevole ed elegante. La bambola ha con sè un vero e proprio libro per gli appunti, rilegato a mano con carta da disegno e tessuto blu.
Come tutte le mie bambole, Hanna è stata spedita in una bella scatola con rivestimento in tessuto blu con un nastro di raso.
