Stop Motion Results !

I was finally able to complete my last stop motion video!

It took quite a long time but I am happy I succeded in finishing it !!

More than 230 pictures and about 10 days of post production 

were involved in the making of this video.

I hope you enjoy it! 

Stop Motion Making of

I'm currently working on a new stop motion video.
It will be longer than the previous ones I've made, and it will show a little bit of dollmaking in progress.
I've already shot all the single frames of the storyboard, organized the sequences, but I still have to make some post-production for the images and develop the soundtrack. It's still a long way to go, but I am posting here some pics as a preview for the video.

Hi everybody! I've recently been working on some stop motion projects..
It's my first try so I'm producing short videos to learn the technique behind this type of animation.

It takes a lot of time! I'm still trying..But I'm quite happy with the results, they are very funny to me!!

Order your custom doll !

I created a listing dedicated to custom made doll orders an my shop www.dedalos.etsy.com.

I already experienced personalized orders from my customers and it is a really interesting experience. 

You can ask for a particular themed doll, choose the color of the hair and the clothing, and give the doll a name. You can also ask for a portrait doll, just send me a picture that you like.
All of my dolls are wrapped in a protective paper, carefully put in a handmade fabric covered box, and shipped in a bubble envelope. As you can see in from pictures, I also include a handwritten paper certificate with the name of the doll.

Goodbye Adeline!

Adeline has left my studio a few days ago.

I was really in love with this doll and her retro outfit.

She was also one of my first dolls ever.

I love her sweet little cute face!

As all of my dolls, she was created from paperclay and vintage fabrics.

This is the little flyer I prepared to share this promotion, featuring my Little Red Riding Hood..ain't she pretty? I love her little cute face!

I decided to update my Etsy Shop banner with the news about this promotion. It's quite a small space where to put all the infos but finally I ended up with a funny and cute result anyway. I hope you like it!

Many of my dolls have already found a loving new house were are kept with a lot of care, and all the others are looking forward to face adventurous journeys all around the world and find new friends as well!

Downtown Mona Lisa

I'm working on some new little paintings this week. 

I made this painting thinking about Mona Lisa icon, translated into the present times.

 It's a tiny hand made acrylic painting.

Well, actually Mona Lisa didn't live in the outskirts of a metropolitan area, but I wanted to follow the composition and reproduce the mood.

The painting is already stretched on a wooden frame, and ready to be hung on the wall.

Post Atomic Girl !

I decided to add some of my paintings to the online shop. Small size canvases can be easily shipped and do not need a huge space to be hung or displayed. The first one of the serie is " Post Atomic Girl ".

This small painting (22 x 13,5 cm) comes already stretched on a wooden frame, and a metal hanger that allows it to be hung on your wall. It has been hand painted with acrylic painting on canvas and it's an original subject by Dedalos.

Emily is a custom made art doll that I created upon order. She is leaving my studio toward France and her outfit pretty reflects it. I feel a bit sorry when a doll leaves my studio, but it makes me so happy to know that someone will enjoy her arrival! 

Together with Emily, another art doll is leaving my studio: Mona Lisa! She has been the symbol of my art dolls since I opened the shop and now she is taking off..

They seem to be fine together in their little blue box.

Well goodbye little dolls, have a nice journey! ♥

I admit I am really affectionate to this painting, 

I really love the colours and the beautiful face of the model.

Au revoir, Amélie !

Another doll is going to leave my studio and fly to her new home! This time it's Amélie, a doll inspired by the famous french movie by director Jean-Pierre Jeunet. I gave her the characteristic short and cute haircut and a very Parisian outfit. I'm very glad to know she will go to stay in the best place for her: France ! 

Un'altra bambola sta per lasciare il mio studio e volare verso la sua nuova casa! Questa volta si tratta di Amélie, una bambola ispirata al famoso film francese del regista Jean-Pierre Jeunet. 

Le ho dato il caratteristico taglio di capelli corto ed un outfit parigino. Sono molto felice di sapere che è diretta nel posto più giusto per lei: la Francia!

Baroque feeling

Huge hoary hairdos, damasked textiles and wallpapers, amazing music and a rich and extravagant atmosphere in all arts. That is baroque. Up to nowadays, this style keeps influencing the creativity in all fields. 

My doll Pauline was created inspired by all those influences. Plus she's a musician, so she deserved a proper instrument. I couldn't avoid to choose a stringed instrument such as the cello. After all, I was born in Cremona, the city of Antonio Stradivari, one of the best violin makers in history. 

Enormi candide acconciature, tessuti e carte da parati damascati, musica incredibile e un ambiente ricco e stravagante in tutte le arti. Questo è il barocco. Ancora oggi, questo stile influenza la creatività in tutti i campi.
La mia bambola Pauline è stata ispirata da tutti questi influssi. Inoltre essendo una musicista, meritava uno strumento adeguato. Non potevo evitare di scegliere per lei uno strumento a corde come il violoncello. Dopo tutto, sono nata a Cremona, la città di Antonio Stradivari, uno dei migliori liutai della storia.

I definitely do, and I wanted to pay a little hommage to that masterchief of literature and its beautiful cinematic transition. Meet my frivolous little Holly! She wears a reproduction of the famous Givenchy dress, a precious tiara, long satin gloves and a pearl necklace.
